DESIGN
The building was built with ‘G’ style and it has internal boundary corridors with a service court. Like other colonial buildings at that time, this double-storey building was built by carpentry according to its weights and structures. To suit the cables installation for telephonic hall at the second floor, wooden floors supported by metal crossbars were built. Glass windows were built with symmetry and dolled up to show the neo-classical style, adaptation from the 19th century. One of the classic and unique architecture characteristic is the 8 Ionia pillars between 2 towers facing Jalan Gereja.
Each year, the functions of this building have become more significant with the development of telecommunication channels that grow rapidly. In 1960s, this building was the headquarters of Telekom Wilayah Selangor or known as Selangor Region. Back then; this building was equipped with the main telephone, telephonic centre and telegraph and also an administration office. In April 1985, this building was gazetted as one of the historical building in Malaysia.
